Adult Mission Trip to Nicaragua • November 11–18
The Kirk offers adult mission trips to those willing to share God's love well beyond our walls. We're gathering a team for a trip to Nicaragua in coordination with CEPAD, a Christian mission group dedicated to serving the people of Nicaragua. Last June, the Kirk hosted Justin Sundberg to discuss what CEPAD is doing in Nicaragua with financial support from the Kirk. Steve McCollum, Kirk member and organizer of the trip, has been in discussion with Justin since then.Register OnlineRegistration Deadline: May 28Total Cost: $1,700 (pay $340 by May 28 to secure your spot)
Our team will go to a small community in the northern mountains of Nicaragua—Santa Josephina—which is in the Matagalpa region. We will be harvesting coffee or making a water harvesting system. Coffee is the primary source of income for this community, so the coffee harvest season is very important for their survival. If the harvest has been completed by the time we arrive, then we will make a water harvesting system—basically a pit dug into the ground and lined with plastic, with trenches leading to the pit so that rain water can be collected for the community to water their garden crops. CEPAD has been working with the people of Nicaragua to supplement their diets with other vegetables besides rice and beans; however, Nicaragua has been hit hard by climate change and drought, so collecting rainwater is very important for the people's survival.
Our goals are to establish a working relationship with CEPAD and to develop personal relationships with the people of Santa Josephina. We will act as Christ's servants in this mission, serving the people of Santa Josephina with love and a little physical labor.

Mid High Mission Trip: The Pittsburgh Project • July 10-14, 2017
Youth in grades 6-8 participate in a summer mission trip to The Pittsburgh Project. This trip includes worship, fellowship, free time and, of course, time spent working in the community. No special skills are needed—just an open and willing heart. The homeowners that we assist are always touched by the caring attitudes of our young people, and grateful for their assistance throughout the week. For more information, contact Kevin Krawczyk at firstname.lastname@example.org, or (248) 973-8010.
Senior High Mission Trip: Orange Walk, Belize • June 24-30, 2017
Youth in grades 9-12 travel to Belize with Praying Pelican Missions (a Christian Ministry) to continue our church-wide ministry with Pastor Ed Perez and Koinonia Ministries. In 2014, our youth started from the ground up to build a facility for Pastor Ed's church (with funding from our Outreach and Mission budget), and we are excited to return for a fourth year to further God's work in this community. There is no experience needed to participate in this trip, just an open and willing heart to serve the Lord and his people. All high school students who have completed grades 9-12 are welcome to join us! For more information, contact Kevin Krawczyk at email@example.com, or (248) 973-8010.
