Habitat for Humanity - RECAP
Habitat for Humanity
Building on faith, experience and a willingness to serve, Kirk in the Hills completed Habitat House #7 in the Ferry Neighborhood in Pontiac. The Ferry Neighborhood (north of South Blvd. and east of Woodward) has been growing through the Habitat ministry and has achieved the critical mass that builds a stronger community. Kirk Habitat House #6 was built in the neighborhood in 2007. On July 10, 2010 over 100 volunteers from the Kirk and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church built the walls of the home in the Kirk parking lot which were then transported to the future home site. The new homeowner was overjoyed and grateful for the efforts of so many volunteers!

Kirk Habitat House #7 - FramingHabitat has been working over the years to build and nurture community, civic, church and Habitat owner relationships which have resulted in stronger community involvement and support for their projects. In addition, increased federal funding has lowered the costs for building partners like the Kirk and assures that new homeowners will be able to benefit from decent, affordable housing that is in line with local market value.
