Women of the Kirk: Blankets Plus Fund Drive
Each year during the month of February, Women of
the Kirk sponsor participation in the Church World Service Blankets Plus Fund Drive. For more than 60 years the Church World Service Blanket Program has made life more “bearable” for those who have been affected by disaster as well as those in need of a warm place to lay their head. A donation of $5 can buy a specially designed blanket to be used in disaster relief areas around the world. The blanket is designed to keep victims both warm and dry.
Church World Service has worked in partnership with local communities to identify their needs and access
the resources they need to build the foundation for a more viable future. Besides blankets, other resources provided are tools, tents, emergency supplies, and literacy training. In addition to the Blankets Plus Fund, Church World Service sponsors the CROP Hunger Walk. For more information, visit the CWS website at www.ChurchWorldService.org.
Please consider donating $5/per blanket to help those less fortunate than ourselves. During the month of February there will be envelopes in the pew racks and in the literature racks if you wish to donate.
