The 2010 Retreat Committee has been finalizing plans for the upcoming Women of the Kirk Retreat. Many hours have gone into making sure our time together will be one of learning, fellowship and fun.
We are so excited to have Lucinda McDowell as our guest speaker this year! She has authored eight books, one titled Spa for the Soul. She is also a contributing editor to twenty- five other books and has been published in more than fifty magazines, earning Mount Hermon’s Writer of the Year Award. Lucinda holds degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Furman University, and has also studied at the Wheaton Graduate School of Communication. Through her ministry, she brings enthusiastic wit and wisdom as an international conference speaker and seminar teacher.
*Women have the choice of coming Friday for a relaxing evening of dinner, fellowship and fun, or coming Saturday morning. The retreat will conclude on Sunday morning after the Agape feast.
For those staying two nights, registration begins Friday at 5:00 p.m., with dinner being served at 6:15 p.m., and the program beginning at 7:30 p.m. For those staying one night, registration begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, with the program beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Thankfully, with the economy the way it is, we have been able to lower the prices this year:
- Friday and Saturday night stay, double bedroom with sink, five meals and program--$159
- Saturday night stay, double bedroom with sink, three meals and program--$119
Last year, Women of the Kirk provided scholarships for fifteen women to attend the retreat. This was possible because of the generosity of the women in the Kirk community. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated! The Retreat Committee has made provisions for Saturday night confidential partial or full scholarships.
