"Book of the Month Club" - Join Us!

Book of the Month ClubAfter successfully kicking off our new small group
("Book of the Month Club") with Barbara Brown Taylor's
An Altar in the World in July 2009, we took a break and headed to the movies to see Julie & Julia in August - great fun and fellowship! In September we covered a classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, followed by Kathryn Stockett's The Help in October. In November we enjoyed Mitch Albom's Have a Little Faith. We've laughed, reflected deeply and shared insights together!  We wrapped up 2009 with a Christmas DVD, The Star of Bethlehem.  Now we are pleased to con-tinue our schedule for 2010. Please feel free to join us!

Note: Book of the Month Club groups now meet the third week of each month on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. and Thursday at noon.

Upcoming March Meeting:

The Hole in Our GospelWednesday, March 17 @ 5:00 p.m. - Fireside Room

Thursday, March 18 @ noon - Fireside Room

Book: The Hole in Our Gospel by Richard Stearns (highly recommended by
the Lott Home Bible Study, this looks to be an engaging challenge to live our
faith). The author supports the fact that when God calls us, he often interrupts
our life to nudge us out of our comfort zone to do His Kingdom work; this book
will challenge the reader to prayerfully discern and boldly respond to God's call.

Be assured, it's always okay to switch between the day or early evening group, depending on
what's convenient for you. Guests and newcomers are always welcome!

Looking ahead, here's our schedule through May, 2010:

April:  A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by W. Phillip Keller (we’ll continue our Easter celebration of the Risen Christ by connecting anew with our Good Shepherd).

May:  Stones into Schools by Greg Mortenson (most of us have read Three Cups of Tea – this book continues the story).
