Youth Choirs - Join Us!
The Youth Choirs have grown tremendously under the leadership of our Music Director, Glenn Miller.
The choristers (grades 2 and higher) enjoy an active social calendar, with movie nights, field trips, caroling during the holiday season, visits to the bell tower, and an end-of-the-season party. Come join the fun and camaraderie, and be part of this terrific program!

The Young Children's Choir (YCC), under the direction Vickie Wills, is comprised of children grades Pre-K through grade 1, and rehearses on Wednesdays from 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. in the Youth Room. While emphasis is placed on the development of basic musical and vocal skills, the YCC sings occasionally
in the St. Andrew's service and the Sanctuary services, in addition to the annual choir festivals. The YCC provides a strong building block towards future involve-ment in our Treble Boys' and Junior Girls' Choirs, as
well as the beginning of lasting friendships through our Kirk choir programs, which often begin in the YCC and continue through the high school years and beyond.

The Treble Boys' Choir (TBC) is comprised of unchanged voices grades 2 and higher, and rehearses Wednesdays from 5:45 - 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. Emphasis is placed on the development of music reading skills, teamwork, and the cultivation of the unique treble boychoir sound in a disciplined but engaging environment using the Voice for Life curriculum of the Royal School of Church Music. The TBC sings in regular worship, both independently and with the Chancel Choir and Chancel Choir men (as the Kirk Men and Boys' Choir), in the annual choir festivals, and occasionally for weddings and civic events. For photo highlights of the Treble Boys' Choir, click here.
The Junior Girls' Choir (JGC) is comprised of girls grades 2 through 5, and rehearses Wednesdays from 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. The Intermediate Girls' Choir (IGC) is comprised
of girls grades 6 through 8 and rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
For both of these choirs, a strong emphasis is placed on the development of music reading skills, teamwork and the cultivation of a beautiful singing tone (also using the Voice for Life curriculum of the Royal School of
Church Music). The JGC and IGC sing regularly in
worship and also in the annual choir festivals.

The Senior Boys and Girls' Choir (SBGC) is
comprised of boys (changed/changing voices) and girls grades 9 through 12. This combined group rehearses Thursdays from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room, and Sundays from 10:10 to 10:50 a.m. in Abbey 31. The SBGC sings regularly in worship, both indepen-dently and with the Chancel Choir, as well as in the annual Advent and Spring Choir Festivals. The SBGC is a meaningful way for middle and senior high choristers to contribute in the act of worship here at the Kirk. Many SBGC members have been sharing their love of singing and praising God through church music since their early days in the Young Children's Choir, often forming lifelong friendships.
The Choir Parents' Guild handles behind the scenes details for the YCC, TBC, JGC, IGC and SBGC. These details include: communication between the Director
of Music and fellow choir parents; the September Choir Kick-Off Cookout; assigning choir robes; ordering sweaters and ties; movie nights in Seaside Cinema; pizza parties after festival rehearsals; the coordination
of refreshments for the annual choir festivals; year-end parties. Membership is comprised of all parents who have children in any of these choirs.
