High School (Senior High) Mission & Outreach Opportunities

Sr. High Mission Trip2012 Senior High Summer Mission Trip
June 17-22

The Senior High Mission Trip will be in Arecibo, Puerto Rico with Youth Works (a Christian Ministry).  Each day will be filled with worship, fellowship, free time and, of course, time spent
in the community. As needed, we will help those who are disabled, impoverished, or require emergency shelter. We may engage in community children’s programs, senior citizens' activities, home repair, and/or soup kitchens. There is no experience needed to participate in this trip, just an open and willing heart to serve the Lord and his people.

All high school students who have completed grades 9-12 are welcome to join us! Students must be active in the life of the church to participate.

Senior High Mission TripThis is not a vacation. This is a mission trip. Everyone participating in the mission trip must be active in the life of our church. This includes, but
is not limited to, weekly Sunday School, Youth Group, acolyting, choir, and serving as a Deacon or Elder in the church. The relationships and fellowship that is built through participating in the life of the church will better equip us to serve Christ and his ministry to our sisters and brothers in Puerto Rico.  As we prepare for our trip we will not only be learning about serving others, but we'll also take time to learn about the culture, community and language (Spanish) of the people we will serve.

The final deadline for sign up is Sunday, January 8. This is the date set by Youth Works. There will be no way to add students after this date.

The cost of the mission trip is $500 per person.  Partial scholarships are available; please contact Kevin Krawczyk.

Below is a recap of one youth's experience
from the 2009 Senior High Mission Trip to the Pittsburgh Project:

The Pittsburgh Project (TPP) was a great experience for me and for all the other Senior High participants who went. TPP is a mission outreach program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania designed to assist people (homeowners) or families who don't have the money to make needed repairs on their homes; teenage and parent volunteers go there every year to help. My group helped Mrs. Benjamin, and we fixed her gutters and windows, repaired her front steps by applying new mortar and cement, and installed two new screen doors, as well as some cleaning jobs. One  night  we were able to invite our homeowner to a special dinner; she brought her grandkids, and we had a great time with them. We had opportunities for fun as well, and did a little sightseeing. The best part was being able to see the joy and tears in our homeowner's eyes the last day as she looked at her new, improved home. I am definitely looking forward to next year's mission trip!
