Rev. Dr. Keith O. ProvostKeith O. Provost was born and raised in the Detroit area. He graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management.  Subsequently he received his Master’s in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Wayne State University. In 2007 he received his M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary.  While in seminary, Keith served as
an intern at
Littlefield Presbyterian Church in Dearborn, Michigan. He also completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.

Before being called to the ministry, Keith worked in the private sector and served as the chief business official for both Wayne County Schools and Oakland County Schools in the Metropolitan Detroit area.  During this time
he was active in professional organizations,
serving as president for two different county school business official organizations. In 1997, Keith was named the Business Administrator of the Year in Wayne County, Michigan.

From 1967-2007,  Keith was an active member of Allen Park Presbyterian Church,  where over the years he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Trustee, holding leadership positions on all three boards.  Keith was elected by the congregation to serve on two pastor nominating committees.  He has also served his community through membership on the local recreation commission, and as president of the board of directors for The Information Center, Inc., an information and referral agency serving the Downriver community.

Keith was called as Temporary Supply Pastor to Kirk in the Hills in December 2007, and was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament on December 22, 2007.  Keith serves as support staff for Outreach and Mission programs at the Kirk, including the Ministry with Pontiac.  Keith also supports the Kirk Board of Deacons, the Stewardship Committee, and the Trustees. 

While Keith was an undergraduate student at Wayne State University, he met Mary Lou, his wife of over 35 years.  They have three grown children: Dr. Elayne Provost, a research scientist, Marie Burkholder, the co-owner of a school for the arts, and Nathan Provost, a chemical engineer in the plastics industry.  Keith and Mary Lou also have four grandchildren.
