Sundays through Sept. 5 Our Summer Garden Service is back! Worship in the garden each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. now through Labor Day weekend. Seating is provided, but feel free to bring your folding chairs and blankets and enjoy this outdoor 45-minute service amidst the sights and sounds of summer in the Columbarium Garden, followed by refreshments under the umbrellas on our front patio. Register Now for VBS! Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held August 16-19, 2010. Set under the impressive baobab tree in the heart of the African savannah, children will have the opportunity to hear the word, be amazed at God's wildlife creations and be a part of a supportive community. Planning is well underway, and as always, we are seeking any interested adults to be part of the planning, preparation and participation of this great event. Help Build Habitat House #7! Kirk Habitat House #7 is beginning to take shape! On July 10, over 100 volunteers from the Kirk and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac worked side by side to frame the house before it is transported to the Ferry Neighborhood of Pontiac. Volunteers are still needed for the weeks of August 2 and August 23. Email Bobi Tallinger at bobitall@comcast.net to volunteer your time as a builder, team leader, food and snack provider, landscape helper, driver, painter or sweeper. Click here for more information.
